My girls flipped over the movie (I can’t even tell you how many times they saw it collectively) and then madly read all the books. When the DVD was released yesterday, we had to re-arrange furniture, black out windows and generally cease from all other activity to watch Twilight. Dave punched his hair up with product and put some of my foundation on (I am apparently paler) and some plum eye shadow under his eyes and mugged for the camera to make the girls laugh. And we watched it with the girls (including Elise-the-Niece and Stef-with-an-f).
It is about vampires. It is not a romance. It is a love story (there is a difference). It is also for much younger women than me, but I did enjoy the the line from Edward: Your scent is like a drug to me – like my own personal brand of heroin. I mean, who wouldn’t want to evoke that kind of passion? Elise happened to be wearing a t-shirt with the same quote.
We kiddingly declared it another in a series of Dave’s birthday celebrations. So, I finally saw it. I was Twilighted.
NOTE: Dave turns 50 tomorrow! May I just say thanks to the Kansas farm girl who gave birth and let him go? Thank-you for your courage and for doing the right thing.
What a fun day! I’m in love with Edward all over again…*sigh* Would you please post the movie cover shot you and Dave did together? It’s FAB! Love you!!!
Yes, I agree with Stef – post the dvd cover shot that you and Dad did together – it was great!
Geez, what a horrible pic of me! We couldn’t have waited to take it until after I did my hair and makeup?! ;o)
But yes, I *LOVE* Twilight! I can’t get enough! I have seen it probably 20 times at this point, and it just never gets old. I can’t wait for the next movie to come out in November!
I love me some Twilight! I watched the end of it again last night with some of the youth girls at a BBQ…pretty awesome! :)
OMGosh! Dave is so ‘Edward’! Would you believe that Aaron read the books first and then got Kaity into them?! When they first found out there was a movie coming they seriously flipped out! Aaron managed to get his hands on a copy (he’s such a computer geek) and gave it to Kait for Christmas. So she has seen it too many times. Personally, I’m a Jasper fan. You all are too much fun! I wish I was closer so I could crash some of your awesome parties!
Another huge TWILIGHT-FEST yesterday afternoon, very impromptu…but now it is all about all the “extras” and hearing the actor’s commentaries. There is Edward-craziness around here. Really, life must, it simply MUST go on!
Ah, yes…I don’t think I am to publicly reveal that certain family members have been watching a bootlegged online copy for onths now. ;}
Twilight is just…..wonderful. There’s no other word for it. I would love to marry Edward Cullen although the vampire thing might drain the relationship eventually, if you know what I mean. hahaha
Well, I wasn’t there for the 1st one. It was actually more fun to just chat about the movie and edward, etc. btw-rob pattinson was not hit in the head by the metal sign. People get so bored! ;) We know way too many facts about that movie. addictive.
I was “Twi-lighted” over Spring Break – watched it in Indianapolis with my girls and Amy Jo Baker. Fun times. :-)
Yes, the girls tried to drag me along to theater previously. Ultimately, I like it and it was artistic and interesting as a love story (NOT a romance, *smile…), but I can’t get in a lather over Edward, as, not only is he young enough to be my son, he is only 11 1/2 years older than my grandson, for the love!…
